Mobiles these days come in all shapes and sizes. Some are made with a specific market in mind eg. N-Gage for gamers, others are made for music buffs eg. Nokia Express music, however BlackBerry phones rule the roost in the Business world. A rage in the corporate sector since the first BlackBerry was introduced, they have made a mark for themselves and continuously strive to hold on to that position. I have used a BlackBerry and found it to be one of the most efficient and sophisticated devices in the market. From personal experience, i give you a review of the BlackBerry 8900.

It’s been a few weeks since i bought the BlackBerry 8900 and i have been nothing but impressed. It comes in a solid black casing measuring 109 x 60 x 13.5 mm. A bit wider than standard mobile phones, it is so because of the presence of a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s quite light weighing about 110 grams which provides a solid feel without seeming heavy or uncomfortable. With a size of 2.4 inches, this TFT LCD screen provides a high colour display of 65k colours and has a crystal clear resolution of 480 x 360 pixels.

The user can enjoy high speed data transfers as the BlackBerry 8900 supports EDGE technology. It also supports Wi-Fi technology which allows the user to gain wireless Internet connection. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth technology and a USB connection port which can be used for transferring data files from compatible devices. It covers a quad band GSM ( 850/900/1800/1900 ) network which allows the user to use their Smart phone worldwide.

You can listen to songs on the built-in music player which gives excellent music quality and supports various formats. The user can also enjoy hearing their ringtones in polyphonic sound or MP3 ringtone format. The camera is an impressive 3.2 Megapixels and gives crystal clear quality and supports still image as well as moving video capture. It comes with a built-in Autofocus feature and Flash thereby enhancing the picture quality.

This Smartphone works on a BlackBerry OS with a 512 MHz processor. Internal memory is a reasonable 256 Mb expandable upto 16 GB using a MicroSd memory card. Fully charged the BlackBerry 8900 gives a talk time of 5.5 hours and a standby time of 356 hours. Overall an excellent phone with the latest features, this will definitely give you your money’s worth.
